Well what a fantastic couple of hours up at Odd Down on Saturday. Adrian Shephard led a gently paced ride over to Bath through the Two tunnels and a final push up to Odd Down.
Such a beautiful day with the sun shining and the Westbury Wheelers flags barely moving in the light breeze. Great turn out for the first of three sessions with ladies coming from many different clubs as well as a great number from the Wheelers to benefit from the expertise of the two PDQ coaches. So nice to see so many friendly faces enjoying the time and picking up tips on the way. We weaved through cones getting tighter and tighter together, we cornered like pros by the end of the afternoon and ended with a nice blast around the track. Alec Johnson and Laura Rose from the Wheelers contributed by example, showing off their expertise.
The Odd Down circuit was perfect for those cornering challenges and the centre in general impressed us with its excellent facilities and enjoyable atmosphere. Thanks to Alex from the Odd Down team who showed up for a photo shoot for their scrapbook.
If you didn’t get the chance to come this time try and come on the 28th April and/or 6th June whether you are a beginner or a semi pro you will benefit from their direct and clear coaching.
Finally at the end of the afternoon, Adrian led the ride home which was more pacey as we had to get back to ready ourselves for a perfect well deserved Indian meal with the WW’s arranged by our Social Secretary Daniel Thomas.......what a club and how proud we should be to belong!
Thanks so much to all who turned out and special thanks to Phil Miles for his photography skills help with making the day run smoothly and successfully.
