Club Runs

Distances and destinations may be affected by weather/seasonal conditions and changed on the day of the ride. Please refer to individual destinations for details.

Please note that speeds are variable.  It is important to remember that riding in a group can be 30% more efficient, therefore speeds are not comparable to riding solo.  The only way to experience this is come and try it out!

All rides leave from the Market Square in Westbury. See Map below.

Tuesday Rides

6 pm

STARTS 27th March 2018 - first Tuesday of BST

Training rides (20 mile, bottom circuit) after clocks change.

Ride will split into sub groups as required.

Wednesday Rides

9.30 am

For a variety of abilities.

Group 1: 40 - 50 miles

Group 2: 30 - 40 miles to the same destination.

Thursday Rides

6.30 pm

Evening social ride with Ian Bartlett. Lights are required.

Length depends on the time of the year but includes a stop in a local pub with chips !

Friday Rides

Midday

From the Market Square Westbury our usual start point. Afternoon Friride with Sean Price which will cater for all speeds

Saturday Green Ride

2 pm

Introductory rides (to learn group riding techniques) of about 20 miles for those thinking about joining the Club. Steady pace and no-one will be left behind. 

Sunday Yellow Ride

Leaving 9 am 20 - 40 miles at 12 - 14mph

Sunday Blue Ride

Leaving 9 am 40 - 60 miles at 14 - 16mph

Sunday Purple Ride

Leaving 9 am 55 - 75 miles at 15 - 17mph

The club hold British Cycling insurance which covers the “club” only; individuals are not covered when on club rides. British Cycling will offer a discount to club members for their Ride Membership which will cost £16-50 for the first year and provides third party insurance. There are many Benefits of Membership of British Cycling.

A Westbury Wheelers club ride is one that is publicised via the club’s media giving a start time and location to allow any club member to participate.

All rides start from the Market Place in Westbury
